Culligan Harvey Salt

Culligan Harvey is a UK brand providing water softeners and related products. Their “Harvey Salt” is their branded softener salt.
It comes in various forms: block salt, tablet salt, granular salt, and also something they call “Mini Curve Salt” (for certain models)The salt is food-grade, Grade A, which means it has minimal impurities and meets the standard BS EN973.

Using the correct type of salt (block/tablet/granular) ensures the softener works efficiently and avoids damage or clogging.
Lower purity salts (with more insoluble impurities) can lead to residue or blockages. Might also void warranties.

Check your softener model: some models (e.g. HarveyArc) require specific shapes (e.g. Mini Curve) or sizes of salt to fit properly.
Frequency of regeneration: if your water is very hard, you’ll go through more salt, so buying larger packs or bulk might be more cost-effective.
Storage / handling: choose salt forms that are easier to move and store, especially if you’ll need large bags or pallets. Blocks are generally easier than loose granular.
Keep salt topped up: Softener systems stop working properly without salt, so regular checking is important. Also avoid salt bridging (solid crust forming) in the salt chamber.
