Marsh Degrilleur trash barrier

Marsh Degrilleur trash barrier, a unique no-electric, no-moving‑parts bar‑screen chamber manufactured by Marsh Industries for protecting sewage treatment systems.

🧱 What It Is

The Degrilleur acts as a trash barrier that intercepts non‑biodegradable solids (e.g. wet wipes, sanitary items, plastics) that could otherwise cause pump station blockages or treatment plant failure.

Positioned upstream of the inlet, it directs debris upward so it accumulates in a perforated retaining trough, which allows maintenance teams to remove waste manually.

⚙️ Key Features

No moving parts and no electricity needed, offering simple, robust operation.

Available in two standard capacities:

MID‑1 – ~2,000 litre (cylindrical)

MID‑2 – ~6,000 litre or larger horizontal models (e.g. MID‑3, up to ~2.7 m diameter × 3 m deep)

Suitable for domestic, commercial, and industrial sewage treatment installations, as well as sewage pump stations and stormwater attenuation systems

📏 Model Specifications

Model Configuration Diameter (mm) Height (mm) Length (mm)
MID‑1 Cylindrical ~1,950 ~1,283
MID‑2 Horizontal ~1,950 ~2,284 ~2,860
MID‑3 Extended Horizontal ~1,950 ~2,284 ~5,200

💡 Operation & Benefits

Blocks debris right at the system inlet so solid waste doesn't enter your sewage system.

Forces flushed items to rise to a grate level where they collect in a trough for manual removal.

Dramatically reduces maintenance issues, avoids system failures, and is particularly helpful where “flushable” wipes and other non‑dissolvable items are being displaced downstream

✅ Applications at a Glance

Sewage Treatment Plants: Pre‑screening non‑biodegradable solids.

Pump Chambers: Prevents system clogs in multi‑stream installations.

Stormwater Attenuation Systems: Acts as an upstream debris barrier ahead of downstream tanks or attenuation structures

📌 Why Consider It?

Minimal maintenance design: no electrics or moving parts.

Prevents costly system failures from clogging debris.

Certified and robust solution widely used in the UK and Europe
